It was our lucky day because we had a visit from (L-to-R) Mary Kotek, Jenn Braden and Taylor Bumpus from Community Living.
If you don’t know about Community Living, they are a St. Charles County-based Non Profit working to enrich the lives of people with disabilities so they can achieve their highest potential. They do that by providing children and adults with services and programs to allow them to live, learn and work in our community. In turn, they make our community a more inclusive, diverse, and better place to live. Crossed Heart BBQ and Community Living have a few things in common!
Eyeing the possibility of working together in the future, we broke down all the steps in our process to get a BBQ meals out the door. We covered everything from lighting the fire all the way to washing the dishes. Mary, Jenn and Taylor also got some “hands on” experience; weighing, packaging and labeling the product and then finally packing up some BBQ bags on the Crossed Heart BBQ Assembly Line. It was a great visit and I hope our organizations can work together again – God Bless their mission in our community.
And…if you’re wondering, they got to take those BBQ bags home.
