Honoring St. Charles County Police Department

Today, Crossed Heart BBQ worked with the Central County Fire and Rescue (CCFR) REHAB-95 Oganization to stock a dozen BBQ meals into the fridge for St. Charles County Police Officers. We got some help from REHAB-95’s Senior Team Leader, Terri Violet and her grandsons, Jace and Jaxson.

REHAB-95 is a volunteer-led division of CCFR that provides timely assistance for both its residents and emergency workers during local crises and emergency responses.  It was created to provide immediate hydration and nutrition needs when required by emergency workers, especially those performing difficult work for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather; and provide assistance for disaster victims to help them begin their recovery process.

REHAB-95 rolls to emergency scenes from a decommissioned CCFR station on Ehlmann Rd. It also serves another purpose for the St. Charles County Police Department. Patrolling county officers often use REHAB-95 as an “unofficial sub-station” because it offers a convenient, secure location for them to take a break, have a meal and use the available WIFI connection to write reports.

Today, when CPL Mendez arrived there was BBQ waiting for him in the fridge. That’s, one down – eleven to go!

Thanks to all the St. Charles County Police Officers for serving our community.  Let us know when you’re ready for more BBQ.

Crossed Heart BBQ depends on donations from the public to honor first responders serving in our community.  If you’d like to keep this going then please consider a tax-deductible donation.  You will be doing good!
