Today, we made the rounds to the St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department located on 2nd street in Old Town. Mark Longhenrich, one of our regular volunteers came to help and we packed up about 60 BBQ meals. We met LT Shawn Rackhaus, Commander of Administrative Services and professional staff member, MIranda Patzius. They got us badged in and then escorted us up the the fourth floor where we unloaded all that BBQ. Learn more about LT Rackhaus in our Around Town tab.
The St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department, led by Sheriff Scott Lewis was first established in 1805 with original jurisdiction over all the territory North of the Missouri River and West of the Mississippi River (think about that!). Today, the County Sheriff is mainly responsible for St. Charles County Court Services including bailiffs and building security and also Field Services including deputies that execute warrants and subpoenas and out-of-state extraditions. Last year, deputies made 150 out of state trips traveling more than 47,000 miles.
Thanks for serving our community LT Rackhaus, Miranda and all the officers and staff on duty with the St. Charles County Sheriff’s Office.
