LT Shawn Rackhaus commands the St. Charles County Sheriff Department’s Administrative Services. He’s been with the Sheriff’s Department since 2012. Before that, he served with other Law Enforcement organizations in both St. Charles and St. Louis Counties. He also served in the USMC.
Today, LT Rackhaus honored us with a Sheriff’s Department “Challenge Coin”. A Challenge Coin was originally a military tradition that commemorates those serving together on a special (often difficult) project. The “challenge” comes in when you present your coin to someone that served with you on that special project and “challenge” them to present their coin. If they can’t present the coin – the they have to buy a round!
